
Just a reminder of upcoming events this week for FFA members. Tomorrow (Tuesday 17th) we will be helping prepare the Polk County Fairgrounds for the annual Polk County Youth Fair. Members attending should bring garden rakes, scoop shovels and pitchforks in addition to gloves and work clothes. Bus will leave at 8:30am. This is a community service activity.
Secondly, the Area FFA Recreational activity at Super Splash USA (Big Surf) scheduled for Wednesday (18th) will be a last minute (Wed morning) call as the weather forecast is questionable for that day. We will have to evaluate and check their FB page prior to leaving at 8am. Cost is $30 CASH ONLY. No cards will be accepted. Refer to the Summer FFA Calendar already sent out for other details.

We’re excited to introduce MaryAnn Boro as our new Elementary Principal!
MaryAnn brings 12 years of experience in education, most recently serving the past 9 years as the High School Agriculture Teacher and FFA Advisor in the Dallas County R-I School District. She holds a Specialist Degree in Professional Leadership (2022) and earned her K-12 Administration certification in 2024.
MaryAnn and her husband, Caleb—who serves as the Technology Director here at Fair Play—are proud parents of four children: Blake (6th grade), Colton (4th grade), Gideon (3rd grade), and Gabriel (Kindergarten).

Congratulations to the 2025 National Reserve Champion Entomology team. They competed at an exceptionally high level finishing only 4 points behind the Champion team. Riley Bruce was 1st High Individual in the nation and Lexi Bee was 5th high individual. Dallas Hardt and Will Frye finished as 16th and 25th individuals respectively, in an extremely competitive field. Great job to all!






Congratulations to Chloe Bruce on being elected as Area X FFA Secretary for the 2025-26 year. She was the third highest in Leadership score, Knowledge exam and Interview score at Area Officer Elections held this past Monday.


After satisfying their appetite for knowledge at the Oklahoma State University Insect Collection, the FFA Entomology Team satisfied their other appetite at Eskimo Joe's in Stillwater and Hard Eight BBQ in Stephenville, TX.They will compete in the National Contest tomorrow at 1pm.






Some of our seniors took their futures seriously by participating in the March Madness Career Match-Up — a job shadowing event made possible through a grant written by Mrs. Seay and sponsored by the Missouri Scholarship & Loan Foundation.
Students explored careers and connected with local professionals — and had the chance to win prizes! 🏆

Fair Play was represented well during the National Land and Range Judging Contest today in OKC. The bulk of the results will not be released until late tonight. This group worked hard, saw new country and made lots of new friends amongst the hundreds of competitors.





National Land Judging practice today in Oklahoma was just a little damp. Alex Frye, Caleb Henderson, Donald Potter and Miley Sukovaty will compete tomorrow against approximately 110 other teams from across the US.





Friendly reminder the Athletic Banquet will be Monday night at 6:00 p.m. The evening starts with a complimentary meal with the awards program to follow. Go Hornets!

A successful conclusion to the annual State FFA Convention in Columbia today as Riley Bruce was awarded 6th Place in the state in Advanced Public Speaking. The Entomology Team of Riley Bruce, Dallas Hardt, Lexi Bee and Will Frye earned a Group I, 4th place finish out of 48 teams by individually placing in 10th, 17th, 19th and 28th respectively. Each earned Group I individual status. In addition, Jasmine Farrow, Caleb Henderson and Lena Skipper had the State FFA Degree conferred upon them. Excellent job to all who attended/competed at state.

Day 2 at State FFA Convention was light regarding competition results. Riley Bruce competed in the Advanced Public Speaking Contest where he qualified for the final round and made the top 6 in the state. We will learn tomorrow which of the top 6 spots he earned. Lena Skipper exhibited her Area Winning SAE record book and earned a Group I rating.

Results from day 1 of State FFA Convention. The Nursery and Landscape Team placed 6th out of 50 teams earning a Group I rating. Annah McGaha, Mekenzie Evans and Chloe Bruce all earned Group I individual ratings with 12th, 22nd and 26th placings respectively. Katie Clark was alternate. The Dairy Foods team finished with a Group I, 4th Place finish out of 50 teams. Haley Duty, Lexi Cantrell, KK Higginbotham and Jocee Mayfield were 5th, 12th, 30th and 50th individuals respectively. The Soil Judging team placed 2nd out of 48 teams earning a Group I rating. Caleb Henderson, Alex Frye, Donald Potter and Miley Sukovaty placed as 6th, 17th, 35th and 68th individuals respectively.

Just a friendly reminder, school will be in session Monday, April 14th. There will be no school on Friday, April 18th. Have a wonderful weekend!


Congratulations to Riley Bruce and Lexi Bee for earning the right to compete at the District level in Advanced Public Speaking and Division II Speaking, respectively. Lexi did a great job with her speech and narrowly missed qualifying for State. Riley place 2nd and will be competing at the State FFA Convention later this month.


Day 2 of District FFA contests included successful performances and qualification for State competition by two CDE teams. The Entomology Team of Lexi Bee, Riley Bruce, Will Frye and Dallas Hardt earned District Champion honors with a first place finish. Riley and Dallas were 3rd and 7th High Individuals respectively, earning Group I honors.
The Nursery and Landscape Team of Chloe Bruce, Katie Clark, Mekenzie Evans and Annah McGaha tied for second place in the 20 team contest. Chloe and Annah were 5th and 6th Individuals respectively, earning Group I Individual status. Great job by all CDE competitors the past two days!

Day 1 of District FFA contests concluded with two teams qualifying for State with strong Group I finishes. The Dairy Foods Team of Lexi Cantrell, Haley Duty, KK Higginbotham and Jocee Mayfield placed 3rd out of 29 teams. Haley Duty was 2nd High Individual. The Soils Team of Caleb Henderson, Alex Frye, Donald Potter and Miley Sukovaty also qualified for State with an 8th place finish. Caleb earned Group I Ind. status with an 8th HI placing
The Agronomy team of Brett DeLozier, Nick Dooley, Austin Duty and Paige Fitch narrowly missed qualifying with a 'alternate to State' 27th place finish.
The Farm Business Mgt team of Jasmine Farrow, Madison Harris, Jill Moore and Lena Skipper also narrowly missed qualifying with a 15th place finish. Day 2 of competition tomorrow.

Next Tuesday, April 8th is the school board election. The candidates are Tiffany Phillips (incumbent), Tyrell Bee (Incumbent), Marcus Sitton, and Michael Sheffer. Two seats will be decided. Don't forget to vote!


Another successful day of competition today at the Area X FFA Leadership Development Events held at Pleasant Hope. The public speakers had a good day with Riley Bruce and Lexi Bee both winning the Advanced Prepared and Division II categories respectively. Dallas Hardt narrowly missed qualifying for district competition with a fifth place finish in a highly competitive Division II. The FFA Knowledge team of Lexi Cantrell, Haley Duty, Jocee Mayfield and KK Higginbotham also narrowly missed qualifying with a 10th Place finish. Lena Skipper and Paige Fitch had recordbooks place 1st and 3rd respectively . Great job to all!



FFA Career Development Event teams had a successful day judging yesterday at Area 10 FFA CDE at Marshfield. The Dairy Foods team of Lexi Cantrell, Haley Duty, KK Higginbotham and Jocee Mayfield placed 4th out of 24 teams. The Soils team of Alex Frye, Caleb Henderson, Jill Moore, Donald Potter and Miley Sukovaty placed 2nd out of 20 teams competing. The Entomology team of Lexi Bee, Riley Bruce, Nick Dooley, Will Frye and Dallas Hardt placed 2nd out of 23 teams. The Nursery and Landscaping team of Chloe Bruce, Katie Clark, Mekenzie Evans and Annah McGaha placed 1st out of 20 teams competing. We had several individuals place in the top five of their respective events. Great job to all!!
